I have read 4-500 books on sales and people, and one of the first books I read about selling was by Tom Hopkins and it was called “Act Like A Lamb and Sell Like A Lion”, a great read. He coined three phrases which are powerfully simple and effective: – A great point is that “Sales is either the best paying full time job or the worst paying part time job!” – A primary question you should ask yourself all day is “Am I Doing The Most Productive Thing Possible Right Now?”. The more times a day you can qualify yourself regarding this the better! – A primary statement to remember during the sale is “Sales Are Made Or Lost By A Few Words, Not A Few Dollars!”I highly recommend his books (there are several) for sales meetings and self education regarding sales basics. Most of his teachings are based on the premise of “Socratic Selling” which is really about selling through asking well timed and appropriate questions.I hope you are staying a student of sales and a scholar of people!
